[Signs of the Times]

In Mark 13:28, Jesus said, "Now learn a parable of the fig tree; When her branch is yet tender, and putteth forth leaves, ye know that summer is near:"
While we are told clearly that no man or woman knows the day or the hour of our Lord's return, we are also strongly encouraged to be watching for His coming, and to live in the earnest expectation and hope of our soon-coming Saviour. Furthermore, we are instructed to be wise to the signs of the times, and to recognize that as we see the events around us unfolding and fulfilling the Biblical markers that God has provided, we should know that "summer is near". We are not to interpret the Bible by the signs of the times; we are to interpret and understand the events around us by the light that God's Word has provided.
How Much Faith?
[Inspirational Thoughts]

We read in the Bible often of great characters and heroes of the "faith". Perhaps we have sometimes wished we could have as much faith as they did. The faith of Noah, or Abraham, or Moses, or Paul inspires us to examine our own life of faith and to press toward the mark of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus. But I think I hear these giants of faith speaking to us from the pages of the Bible, and they encourage us to think less about our amount of faith, and focus more keenly on Him in whom we have put our faith. Truly, as we lean more and more upon Jesus Christ, the author and finisher of our faith, our faith will naturally increase as we see how He continually supports us, sustains us, and keeps His promises. And we will learn that it was not the amount of our faith that mattered, but where we placed that faith that makes all the difference.
"Turn your eyes upon Jesus,
Look full in His wonderful face,
And the things of earth will grow strangely dim,
In the light of His glory and grace."
